Basic Skills for Winning a Paintball Game

Paintball is a game of strategy and there is no right or wrong way to win. However, there are a few basic skills that you should consider before you head out to face your opponents.

First, you’ll want to make sure you have all the right equipment. An online paintball store is a great place to start. There are several different types of paintball markers to choose from and you should pick one that fits your budget and has the features that you are looking for. You can sometimes find paintball guns for sale at the paintball facility, but many people choose to go online because there is a much greater selection.

There are two main paintball games. The first is a straight elimination game in which the goal is to see which team can eliminate the other team’s players first. The other type of game is one which has an objective, such as capturing the other team’s flag.

When you are playing a straight elimination game, often there will be several players who are in charge of the offense while a few players stay back. Their goal is simply to avoid being hit. The problem with leaving a few players in the back is that they are now worthless in terms of offense. They will not be able to eliminate the other team’s players until they get very close. A good paintball team will have several players whose main job is to eliminate as many players as possible. They will be putting themselves in “danger” so they should be able to move quickly and have very good accuracy. The next string of players will be supporting the offense. They will guard them from advancing players and assist them by trying to come around the sides and eliminate players.

When the game has a particular objective, you need to make sure that you have several players on your team that are going after the flag or other object. You will get more points for capturing the flag than you will by eliminating players, so you need to send some of your players to go get the flag even if they risk being hit. You also need to set up a defense around your own flag.

Everyone on your team should have a particular mission. Some players will serve as offense while others will take a defensive role. By working together, you should be able to eliminate your opponents before they eliminate you.

Why is Paintball So Expensive?

It’s a question we all ask ourselves after reaching into our wallets and grabbing nothing but air after a weekend of playing paintball. Can’t it be cheaper? Why do we have to bust out $50-$100 to play every weekend? Well… there are a number of factors you need to take account for.

Like many extreme sports out there, with paintball comes a liability issue on the field owners and manufacturers part. To cover the cost of insurance and the potential cost for legal cases, companies and fields figure prices to cover them accordingly. Now if everyone promised never to sue, then we’d have a cheaper sport… but since that isn’t the case, we are going to have to deal with the higher prices.

Now liability isn’t the only cost suppliers and field owners have to cover, they have to take into account that the paintball industry is full of middlemen. Middlemen like National Paintball Supply that cut into the profits. This is the big reason why paintballs are so expensive.

In short, paintballs and field entry fees account for most of the profit field owners bring in, and those will only go up if they cannot make as much money selling equipment because of the amount of competition.

So whats the solution? The solution lies in the hands of Dye, Smart Parts, Tippmann, and all the other paintball companies out there. In order to battle this dilemma, they need to stop handing out retail accounts like lollipops and get their head back into the game, because if they don’t, they’ll be the ones to blame if paintball dies.
